POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves performing physically demanding tasks associated with the upkeep of facilities. The individual will carry out regular maintenance on various equipment daily.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in operating diverse types of machinery
  • Capability to acquire necessary certifications or licenses
  • Understanding and adherence to the policies and procedures of the City of Conroe and its departments
  • Ability to comprehend and execute both written and verbal instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is physically demanding, necessitating the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move items. Additionally, the following physical capabilities are essential: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.


Successful candidates must complete a background check and a pre-employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment. A motor vehicle record check and a job-related physical examination may also be necessary. Positions classified as safety-sensitive are subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hiring.
