Overview of the Rework Operator Role:
The Rework Operator plays a crucial role in managing the daily rework of solar modules, ensuring adherence to quality and safety protocols. This position involves utilizing specialized equipment to solder components, making precise connections between wires and soldering pads. The Rework Operator is responsible for guaranteeing that the soldering process meets all quality standards set by Trina Solar. Additionally, this role may include training other personnel in the rework procedures, maintaining soldering equipment, and documenting all repair activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability.
- Implement 5S practices in designated areas.
- Communicate production updates to incoming shifts.
- Execute all tasks safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Maintain soldering and workstation tools.
- Repair cell strings and modules as needed.
- Utilize testing equipment to monitor workstation and soldering iron temperatures.
- Assess soldering quality through imaging and electrical testing.
- Assemble circuits requiring precise hand assembly.
- Verify cell specifications by accurately reading labels.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to comprehend technical documents, manuals, and instructions.
- Capacity to thrive in a high-volume production environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Preferred experience of one year or more in soldering.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for up to 75% of the time.
- Frequent bending, standing, stooping, and walking.
- Occasional lifting of light to moderate objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Effective communication skills, including hearing and speaking.
- Frequent visual engagement with computer screens and testing equipment.
- Occasional use of stairs to access work areas.
