Job Title: Software Systems Analyst/Programmer

Job Summary:

OBXtek is seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Analyst/Programmer to support the USCG in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The successful candidate will participate in the design, development, analysis, and implementation of software operating systems and software application programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software operating systems and applications, including full life cycle design and development.
  • Work from specifications to develop and modify operating systems and software applications.
  • Participate in the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
  • Analyze system architecture requirements and perform requirements acquisition and definition and data analysis.
  • Customize purchased applications and perform technical and subject matter research on emerging technologies.
  • Analyze and document client needs and requirements.
  • Participate in the writing, modifying, and maintaining technical documentation and specifications.
  • Perform integration testing and support of various computer operating and/or network systems.
  • Debug and provide customer support for software operating system and application issues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering, including the design, coding, testing, and documentation of computer programs.
  • Proficiency in SQL using Ingres and/or Oracle technologies.
  • Linux/Unix knowledge and command line /Vi Editor experience is required.
  • Experience with Development tools like SQL Developer, TOAD etc., required.
  • Full Stack Development experience using Ingres and/or Oracle.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or Associates Degree (A.A./A.S.) in a related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification.
