Your Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security and efficiency of our systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and Architecting: Develop, configure, deploy, and support various storage and backup platforms along with their management tools.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to storage systems and associated technologies.
  • Standards Adherence: Follow engineering and architecture standards while participating in technical review meetings.
  • Technology Integration: Collaborate with other engineers and architects to evaluate and implement new technologies.
  • Incident Management: Provide support during incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain essential documentation, including diagrams and technical manuals.
  • System Optimization: Demonstrate initiative in optimizing systems and processes.
  • Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation of new storage hardware and software according to established procedures.
  • Updates Management: Ensure timely updates to hardware and software to maintain functionality and security.
  • Monitoring: Regularly review system performance and capacity metrics.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in storage and backup technologies.

Qualifications for Success
To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience with NetApp and other storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with SAN, NAS, and iSCSI storage implementations.
  • Experience in capacity planning and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of data center migrations and storage replication technologies.
  • Senior-level experience in designing and maintaining large-scale systems.
  • A strong understanding of high availability concepts and fundamental hardware components.
  • Essential knowledge of TCP/IP concepts.
  • Understanding of security best practices and federal requirements.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Preferred Skills
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:

  • NetApp Certification.
  • Experience with PowerShell or Python scripting.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services / C2S.
