Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, and operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and control activities of workers engaged in assembling parts or assemblies into units.
  • Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Coach and counsel employees, and initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain workflow in accordance with the Production Tracker and Shipping Schedule by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing and communicating priorities, monitoring progress, and revising schedules as needed.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Maintain time, production records, production schedules, and production reports.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Maintain an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or 2 years' experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to effectively direct, oversee, and monitor employees in the Production Department.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
