Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of our state's transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, mowers, and post drivers to maintain highways and right-of-way.
  • Perform manual labor for concrete and bituminous patching and sealing of cracks in highways and structures.
  • Provide highway traffic control for construction and maintenance projects according to safety procedures.
  • Complete routine and general maintenance and mechanical repair on equipment.
  • Repair highway signs and perform snow removal.
  • Apply chemicals of selective and non-selective herbicides to the highway right-of-way.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license, and possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements is required within 60 days of employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the operation of heavy equipment or farming background, a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement, and commercial pesticide applicator's license.
