Job Description:

Veit & Company Inc is seeking a highly skilled Demolition Superintendent to join our Demolition & Blasting team based out of the Rogers, MN location. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily site activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Directly supervise lead personnel and staff on each project site, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with General Superintendents to coordinate job-specific needs, including workforce and equipment requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with agreements and Veit policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and time cards.
  • Address staff performance issues promptly and provide training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss project start-up and planning, and regular job site meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all work meets specified quality standards, inspecting field work, materials, and reviewing manufacturer's literature and drawings.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in Heavy Industrial Demolition.
  • OSHA 30 hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legal documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, iPad, and iPhone.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management, employees, external vendors, and business associates.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical field quantity situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • 25-75% travel within the Midwest region is required.
Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat.
