Bilingual Literacy Program Coordinator

Dolores Street Community Services is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Literacy Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in supporting students' literacy development, particularly those who are bilingual or learning English as an additional language.
Responsibilities:
- Assess Literacy Levels: Utilize diagnostic tools to evaluate students' reading and writing skills.
- Develop Interventions: Create and implement individualized and group literacy interventions tailored to students' needs.
- Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate effective literacy strategies into their instruction.
- Monitor Progress: Track students' progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure they meet literacy goals.
- Professional Development: Provide training and support to teachers on best practices in literacy instruction.
- Engage Families: Involve families and communities in literacy initiatives to support students' learning at home.
- Support Diverse Populations: Address the unique needs of bilingual students and those with special needs.
Requirements:
- Background in and passion for working with low-income and immigrant communities around issues of affordable housing, land use, and/or immigrant & worker rights.
- Bilingual in spoken and written Spanish (highly desired).

Estimated Salary Range:$25.00-$28.00 per hour, 15 hours/week (commensurate with experience).
