Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist position provides clean, safe, and professional facilities to our students, community, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of facility and grounds cleanliness, attractiveness, health, and safety across campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and maintaining all campus facilities, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, and common areas.
  • Performing custodial tasks, such as cleaning, disposing of garbage, and stocking supplies.
  • Operating cleaning equipment and using cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
  • Assisting with event setup and campus needs, including moving and setting up furniture.
  • Monitoring custodial supplies and equipment inventories and notifying supervisors of any issues.
  • Providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively with colleagues, faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of custodial experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including night shifts, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and use cleaning equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, safety precautions, and proper use of materials and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent and prolonged use of cleaning chemicals, exposure to dust, and potential exposure to bodily fluids and blood-borne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment and safety procedures must be utilized as required.
