Rimtec Corporation, a leading PVC compounding manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Development Chemist to join our team in Burlington, NJ.
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Development Chemist to conduct research and development work for new compounds and improve existing ones. The successful candidate will provide technical support to production and sales teams, as well as technical service to customers and potential customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development work for new compounds and improve existing ones.
- Provide technical support to production and sales teams.
- Provide technical service to customers and potential customers.
- Conduct color matching for new formulations and/or existing formulations.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good technical knowledge of PVC materials and application experience in formulating.
- Ability to research, evaluate, and implement new compounds.
- Expertise in chemistry, surface-interface properties, and surface characterization.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Experience with roll mill, hot press, tensile tester, impact tester, color spectrophotometer, and other lab devices needed for formulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams to complete assignments.
