Adjunct Faculty

The Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Instructor is an adjunct position located primarily on the Tulsa Community College Campus. This position provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the CRCST program.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate, timely, and appropriate student, instructor, and course documentation.
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans to students in Blackboard as well as in-class instruction.
- Ensure administrative and communication proficiency by managing administrative responsibilities, including communication with students and officials, record-keeping, and grading.
- Ensure instructional excellence and engagement through effective instructional delivery, including preparing and delivering content in alignment with the College Master Syllabus, cultivating an inclusive learning environment, and maintaining an active classroom conducive to student success.
- Show commitment to providing quality customer service and an uncompromising commitment to student learning through the college's mission, vision, values, and the delivery of instruction.
- Collaborate seamlessly with relevant support services to enhance the student experience and contribute to their overall success.
- Approach student interactions from a success coaching model, tailoring support to individual needs, and ensuring a proactive partnership for academic achievement.
- Work effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with students, the healthcare industry, community representatives, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Interact with clinical sites to ensure that policies and procedures specific to the sites are being followed.
- Maintain mastery and currency in the fields of surgical technology and/or central sterile processing to ensure continuity between course instruction and evidence-based practices.
- A minimum of two years or the equivalent of full-time experience in the central processing department with experience in all areas of the department.
- Upon hiring, completion of the Blackboard course management system training.
- Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc.
- OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued by The Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) (formerly the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM))
- OR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
