Tulsa Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach in our Central Sterilization and Distribution program. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for providing quality learning opportunities to students, assisting them in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the field of Central Sterilization and Distribution.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and timely student, instructor, and course documentation
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans to students in a learning management system and in-class instruction
- Ensure administrative and communication proficiency by managing administrative responsibilities, including communication with students and officials, record-keeping, and grading
- Ensure instructional excellence and engagement through effective instructional delivery, including preparing and delivering content in alignment with the College Master Syllabus, cultivating an inclusive learning environment, and maintaining an active classroom conducive to student success
- Show commitment to providing quality customer service and an uncompromising commitment to student learning through the college's mission, vision, values, and the delivery of instruction
- Collaborate seamlessly with relevant support services to enhance the student experience and contribute to their overall success
- Approach student interactions from a success coaching model, tailoring support to individual needs, and ensuring a proactive partnership for academic achievement
- A minimum of two years or the equivalent of full-time experience in the central processing department with experience in all areas of the department (i.e. decontamination, prep and pack area, sterilization, storage and case cart building)
- Upon hiring, completion of the Blackboard course management system training
- Central Sterilization and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued by The Healthcare Sterilization Association (HSPA) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a health-related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
- Minimum of one (1) academic year of teaching experience, preferably at the community college level or the equivalent of one (1) year of workforce training in a Central Sterilization department
- Familiarity with course management systems such as Blackboard
