Overview & Responsibilities:
The Culinary Supervisor is responsible for hands-on food preparation within a community culinary program. This role ensures the highest standards of quality service and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Upholding community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization
- Adhering to food quality, presentation, and appearance standards
- Producing and serving menu items that comply with nutritional guidelines as per local regulations
- Exhibiting speed, accuracy, and efficiency in cooking
- Demonstrating expertise in all areas of food preparation and production
- Engaging with residents to assess food service quality and make necessary adjustments
- Fostering a culture of hospitality through excellent customer service
- Planning, preparing, and delivering all meals served on the property
- Maintaining a sanitary work environment and adhering to local food safety codes
- Conducting inspections of food storage and utility areas
- Completing administrative tasks to ensure equipment and supply control
- Keeping dining areas clean and orderly
- Obtaining and maintaining Serv Safe/Food Handlers Permit
- Processing dietary changes and ensuring compliance with physician orders
- Preparing food for activities, marketing, and special events as needed
- Exhibiting professionalism in interactions with residents, families, and visitors
- Encouraging teamwork through collaborative interactions
- Maintaining a positive and professional image
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Director of Culinary Experience
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in restaurant or senior living culinary roles
- Ability to follow standardized recipes for various dietary needs
- Capability to make independent decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and team members
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High personal integrity and compassion for older adults
- Genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of seniors
- Annual Flu vaccine required, with exceptions for religious or medical reasons
Salary Range:
USD $48,000.00/Yr. to USD $54,000.00/Yr.
