Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist I role at Cynet Systems involves assisting in the performance of various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position requires experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. The successful candidate will collect and store specimens according to established procedures, properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods, and demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Additionally, the Phlebotomist I will fully understand all physicians' orders, match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order, and package specimens for transport. The ideal candidate will also understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend annual department trainings, and answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed, minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and a High School Diploma or GED.
