The Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our health, safety, and environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent and reliable attendance.
- Document and report on Quality, EPA, Safety, and ISO activities as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
- Support daily production operations and relay quality issues to the Quality Control Manager and Production Management.
- Oversee the monitoring and auditing of hazardous waste and recycled materials.
- Maintain comprehensive training records for Safety and EPA compliance.
- Assist in the ISO 9001:2015 compliance process through auditing and documentation.
- Collaborate on resolving customer complaints through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Analyze complaints and product failure data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Regularly report on the status of complaints and product compliance issues.
- Identify and assist in rectifying non-compliant product matters.
- Enhance production efficiency by troubleshooting and addressing operational challenges.
- Ensure all necessary inspections and monitoring activities are conducted and documented in line with compliance requirements.
- Drive initiatives to discover opportunities and implement projects for continuous improvement in Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality domains.
- Conduct audits for incoming, in-process, and finished materials for the Quality Manager.
- Review, develop, and audit operational procedures to enhance product quality.
- Maintain calibration records in collaboration with Quality Assurance technicians.
- Be available for off-shift work as business needs arise.
- Document all incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment within the facility.
- Manage inventory of safety supplies.
- Ensure accessibility and maintenance of safety data sheets.
- Coordinate First-Aid, CPR, and AED training sessions.
- Oversee the emergency evacuation program.
- Manage the Hazard Communication Program.
- Ensure all relevant employees are current on training for tow motors and scissor lifts.
- Investigate workplace accidents and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Provide safety orientation for new employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and policies.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in root cause analysis.
- Certification or progress towards OSHA (30 Hours) is required.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards.
- Ability to design and deliver training programs for staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and a commitment to driving change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable in ERP systems and databases.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field, such as Environmental Health and Safety, Chemistry, or Engineering.
