Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Sterling Engineering. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements related to environmental programs and the health and safety of employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective safety training programs for employees, including new hire training, OSHA training, and CPR/AED training.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
  • Investigate and respond to EHS incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage maintenance schedules to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety and environmental audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain MSDS materials and manuals.
  • Serve as the facility's emergency coordinator, ensuring a safe and effective response to emergencies.
  • Monitor daily production to promote safe working conditions.
  • Lead the facility's safety committee, promoting a culture of safety and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate records related to safety functions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in EHS in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • OSHA 10/30 hour; RCRA; HAZWOPER; HAZWASTE, DOT 181; Industrial Hygiene classes (CIH).
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Safety Certification (CSP, ASP, etc.).
