OVERVIEW
The primary role of the Automotive Body Repair Specialist is to restore vehicles that have sustained damage, adhering to factory and dealership standards. This position requires a commitment to quality and performance while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of damaged vehicles to evaluate the extent of repairs needed and formulate a detailed repair strategy.
  • Utilize specialized tools and techniques, including welding, dent removal, and panel replacement, to repair damaged components. Replace any parts that cannot be salvaged.
  • Ensure proper alignment of the vehicle's frame or structure using advanced computer measuring systems or mechanical tools.
  • Prepare surfaces of repaired or replaced components for painting through sanding, filling, and priming processes.
  • Perform thorough inspections to confirm that repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, including parts utilized, labor hours, and any additional services rendered.
  • Regularly service tools and equipment to guarantee optimal functionality and safety.
  • Efficiently manage time to achieve a production level of 80 percent or higher while upholding quality standards.
  • Ensure that all repairs are executed precisely, following established repair plans and industry guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members, including estimators, parts personnel, and painters, to streamline the repair process and minimize delays.
  • Engage with customers professionally, addressing their concerns and keeping them informed about the progress of their vehicle repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to reduce workplace accidents and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Notify management of any additional repairs needed or challenges that may hinder the quality of work or alter the expected completion time.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition and comply with all safety and health regulations.
  • Assist colleagues in the repair and preparation of vehicles as needed.
  • Stay informed about and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations.
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely and maintain a professional appearance and work environment.
  • Participate in mandatory company training sessions.

Physical Requirements
  • Mobility within the dealership to perform vehicle repairs.
  • Proficient use of hand and power tools consistent with industry standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, typically 6 to 8 hours per shift.
  • Physical capability to bend, stretch, lift, reach, and climb as necessary.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Work Environment
  • Exposure to noise, vibration, paint, dust, exhaust fumes, and other materials.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a fast-paced body shop environment.
