Job Title: Property Accountant

Join our team at Christian Church Homes as a Property Accountant, supporting all aspects of accounting for the financials of our affordable housing properties.

About the Role:

This is a highly collaborative role that interacts with various departments within the organization to ensure accurate financial reporting for each property.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a positive and caring working environment for all employees and residents.
  • Support and collaborate with internal departments, including Operations, Property Management, Finance, and Development.
  • Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate coding and cost allocation.
  • Responsible for financial reporting, including variance analysis of assigned property's financial results.
  • Use Yardi software to ensure accurate and timely recording of property-related financial transactions.
  • Review Property's Accounts Payable.
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, analysis, budgeting, invoices, variances, financial statements, and government and investor reporting.
  • Responsible for review of lease assets to ensure depreciation/amortization.
  • Assist in post-closing proration adjustments.
  • Support annual financial audit.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college required.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 2 years of related experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous accounting experience in a real estate environment a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platform and prior experience with accounting systems and processes.
  • Experience with Yardi desired.
  • A customer service orientation and ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Reporting and Organizational Relationships:

This position will report directly to the Controller and does not have supervisory responsibility.

Compensation and Classification:

CCH is committed to paying competitive wages. The salary range for this position is $32.64/hour. Based on CCH's compensation philosophy, most new hires are brought in at the minimum of the salary range. CCH has a competitive benefits package with health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 8% employer contribution for retirement, and more.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position based at the CCH Central Office in Walnut Creek, CA.

Physical Demands:
