About the Role

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will utilize advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to provide primary and/or specialized health care services to individuals, families, groups, and communities across the health-illness continuum.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health status through comprehensive health histories, physical exams, and analysis of data to formulate appropriate diagnoses.
  • Develop and prioritize comprehensive problem lists and initiate nursing interventions.
  • Collect and prioritize patient data according to the patient's immediate condition or needs.
  • Identify expected patient outcomes and develop plans of care to manage patients' health problems, promote health maintenance, and prioritize multiple patient needs.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse licensure to practice in the state of Michigan.
  • Master's degree in nursing (clinical-based degree).
  • Two years of clinical experience as a professional nurse.
  • National certification in advanced practice nursing specialty (required within 6 months of employment).
