Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

We are in search of a committed and enthusiastic Accounting Professional to take on the role of Senior Financial Reporting Analyst within their Corporate Accounting & Finance division.

Position Overview

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst plays a crucial role within the SEC and Accounting Policy team, tasked with the examination of SEC filings and internal documentation. This position involves analyzing SEC/GAAP regulations and providing insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review all public disclosures (10-Q, 10-K, 8K, and other SEC documents).
  • Collaborate with the investor relations team to develop and review quarterly earnings presentations.
  • Assist in the continuous monitoring and interpretation of new SEC/GAAP regulations, drafting position papers on their implications for the organization, and implementing necessary accounting treatments.
  • Conduct independent research and lead accounting-related implementation projects in partnership with various business units, ensuring policy and procedural documentation is updated.
  • Foster ongoing collaboration with accounting and other departments to gather and review schedules for internal reporting packages and external filings, ensuring accurate representation of transactions in financial statements.
  • Drive process enhancements within the financial reporting team, working alongside departments such as Data Management, Loan Operations, Treasury, and Legal to optimize workflows and ensure data integrity.
  • Review and prepare various schedules for internal reporting, including the monthly Board package.
  • Engage with external and internal auditors regarding financial reporting issues.
  • Oversee the detailed Xtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging of financial statements and accompanying notes.
  • Provide direct support for various special projects as needed.
  • Manage, mentor, and support team members to enhance their skills, while monitoring work distribution and staffing levels for optimal resource utilization.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Exemplify leadership by modeling behaviors that align with the team and organization's values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting and SEC reporting for publicly traded companies, or relevant experience in a publicly traded company with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and familiarity with XBRL Workiva system is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research current and future reporting updates.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing ambiguity and complexity.
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector is highly desirable.
  • Team-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple assignments while adhering to deadlines.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to follow-through and documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
