Patient Care Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our Med Surg team at UMass Memorial Health. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, personal hygiene, and mobility.
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and test results.
- Perform treatments and procedures as directed by nursing staff, such as applying heat and cold, and applying restraints.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
