Job Title: Licensed Surveyor in Training

Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Licensed Surveyor in Training to join our Land Surveying department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the preparation of accurate and complete work products, performing quality control reviews of design plans, and performing complex technical survey design tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist multiple project managers with all aspects of project management.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and contracts.
  • Provide guidance and direction to office staff and field crew(s).
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with project managers, office & field coordinators with daily workload, schedules, and project needs.
  • Evaluate policy & procedures to ensure all deliverables are done accurately and using the most efficient method.
  • Work closely with the survey department manager.
  • Manage and coordinate projects with multiple team members including other offices and business units.
  • Assist with managing project budgets and financials.
  • Consulting with clients.
  • Assist with maintaining monthly project invoicing.
  • Coordinate vehicle requirements, needs, and maintenance with logistics.
  • Monitor corporate safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Must be a licensed Land Surveyor in Training or Land Surveyor.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing.
  • Must be proficient with all aspects of computing, drafting procedures, and the importance of CAD standards.
  • Proficient with the preparation of the preparation and quality review of easements, right-of-way plats, and legal descriptions.
  • Proficient with Civil3D, Carlson Survey, Carlson SurvCE and Trimble Access and Business Center software is a plus.
  • Proficient with Bentley (Microstation) skills is a plus.
  • Experience with MD SHA surveys is a plus.
  • Experience with laser scanning is a plus.
  • Experience with 3D survey drawings a plus.
  • Must have a valid drivers license, good driving record, and ability to pass a driving record background check.
