Position Summary:

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for managing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks that enhance the efficiency of patient admissions and scheduling. This role emphasizes effective communication with patients and visitors, fostering a high level of satisfaction and quality in care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate personnel. Manage incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy. Address any complaints or requests promptly.
  • Process and verify physician orders accurately. Manage patient admissions and discharges, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Provide clerical support for departmental initiatives and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics for the department. Order and manage office supplies, ensuring inventory levels are sufficient. Verify patient insurance details and collect necessary co-payments.
  • Assist with billing processes and maintain hospital forms. Perform confidential clerical tasks, including data entry and filing. Help schedule patient appointments and manage departmental reservations.
  • Ensure waiting areas are tidy and organized, providing a welcoming environment for patients. Monitor alarm panels and report any issues to the relevant departments. Support departmental quality standards through effective communication and assistance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, manuals, and handouts as needed. Provide administrative support for special projects and departmental activities.
