Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Resource Faculty for Language to join our team at Eastern New Mexico University. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching courses within the required discipline, developing and managing course syllabi, and assessing student grades. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or higher in an appropriate discipline or closely related field, with 18 hours of upper division coursework in subject matter from an accredited institution.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses within the required discipline, utilizing Canvas and other digital tools as needed.
  • Develop and manage course syllabi, ensuring department and college standards are met.
  • Assess student grades based on participation, performance, assignments, and examinations.
  • Maintain professional and academic competencies, as well as licenses required by department teaching assignment.
  • Recommend course materials to the Department Chair.
  • Utilize retention software (DropGuard) for weekly reporting and Banner for attendance and grade tracking.
  • Participate in campus and department meetings, activities, and professional development as directed by the Department Chair.
  • Maintain regular email communication with students and the Department Chair.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:


  • A Master's degree or higher in an appropriate discipline or closely related field.
  • 18 hours of upper division coursework in subject matter from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in higher education, online instructional experience, and computer literacy in software and internet-based applications are preferred.

Working Conditions

The work is sedentary in nature, requiring occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. The position may require some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
