Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will provide critical support to Physicians in the examination, testing, and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms, taking detailed medical histories as needed.
  • Take and record patients' vital signs, alerting Physicians or Nurses to any abnormalities.
  • Perform various medical tests and procedures, including blood draws, electrocardiograms, and injections, ensuring accurate labeling and timely transportation of samples.
  • Assist Physicians with medical procedures and follow up on test results.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, checking encounter forms and diagnostic laboratory forms for accuracy.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to established procedures for cleaning equipment and examination rooms.
  • Retrieve and deliver paperwork and supplies, distributing forms to other departments as needed.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, photocopying, and appointment scheduling.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (Level I preferred, Level II required).
  • CPR Certification.
  • 3-5 years' experience in ambulatory care preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Patient care skills.
  • Ability to operate medical equipment, including blood pressure monitors and autoclaves.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical and judgment skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Working Conditions

40-hour work week, with hours and days determined by business needs. Additional hours may be required.
