We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Services Intern to join our team at Gateway Vista in Lincoln, NE.

As a Social Services Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with special health care needs and medical conditions.

Our team is committed to providing exceptional care and service, and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have a customer-focused attitude.

We offer flexible scheduling and a 15+ hour per week commitment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing case management services to medically and behaviorally complex residents
  • Working with residents to identify potential areas of risk and develop strategies for mitigation
  • Contacting enrolled residents to conduct health risk surveys and/or BIMS (Brief Interview for Mental Status)
  • Collaborating with team members and social services partners to address or de-escalate resident issues
  • Assisting the social work team with admissions and assessments related to admissions

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Current college student, with sophomore status or greater, or recent graduate
  • Potential majors include: Criminal Justice, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or another related field
  • Flexible scheduling offered, but a 15+ hour per week commitment preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Must be self-motivated and able to effectively work independently
  • Have leadership experience
