Job Summary:

The Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing and directing a team of workers to deliver a successful project by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability, and schedule, resulting in extreme customer satisfaction.

This role requires a strong understanding of track construction and maintenance, as well as the ability to read and understand project-specific documents, including schedules, standard railway plans, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective work plans and schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Supervise and direct a team of workers to ensure they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily briefings with the team to review production goals, performance feedback, safety, and schedule.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, and change orders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the rail construction industry, with a focus on track construction and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of track construction and maintenance, including the ability to read and understand project-specific documents.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and direct a team of workers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Physical and Attendance Requirements:
  • This is a hands-on job working outdoors at construction sites.
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 90 pounds.
  • Exposed to all weather conditions, including very hot and very cold weather.
  • Exposed to loud noise.
  • May be exposed to live track/trains and high voltage.
  • Travel will be required in this position, ranging from a few weeks to months on-site at a time.
