PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare the banquet area as directed by the Supervisor, ensuring all linens, cutlery, and glassware are in place.
  • Participate in pre-event meetings to understand the details of the function, including guest expectations and hotel standards.
  • Welcome guests and address their inquiries in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Serve food and beverages according to the Supervisor's guidelines, maintaining consistency throughout the event. Efficiently clear dishes as guests finish each course or at the conclusion of the meal.
  • Adhere to all legal and corporate regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Restock beverages as needed and check in with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
  • After the event, reset the banquet area according to the Supervisor's instructions to prepare for the next function.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be available for scheduled shifts.
  • Perform any additional duties related to the job as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess effective communication skills in English. A self-motivated individual with a calm demeanor is essential. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times. Ability to engage positively with guests is crucial. Willingness to assist colleagues and work collaboratively as part of a team is required. Basic understanding of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette is necessary. Familiarity with proper table settings and service ware is expected. Capability to understand and apply written instructions for safe product usage within the hotel is important. Ability to recall and promote various menu items is required. Must be able to lift and transport up to 30 lbs. through crowded areas continuously during shifts. Proficiency in operating beverage equipment, such as coffee makers, is essential.

It is vital to maintain professionalism and treat all guests and colleagues with respect and courtesy at all times. Every associate at Crescent is a representative of guest relations, committed to excellence every moment of the day.

WORK ETHICS:

To foster a positive experience for both guests and associates, your work habits should consistently meet and aim to exceed hotel standards regarding procedures, appearance, punctuality, and attendance. Adaptability to changes in the work environment and hotel policies is essential, along with a willingness to learn new skills or enhance existing ones. Problem-solving skills for routine issues that arise on the job are necessary, and seeking assistance when unsure is encouraged.

SAFETY AND SECURITY:

The safety and security of our guests and staff are of utmost importance at Crescent. All associates must comply with hotel security policies and procedures, particularly concerning key management, lifting heavy items, handling chemicals, and reporting safety hazards and concerns effectively.
