Job Summary:

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing cost data, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Preparation:
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
    • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and work to resolve any identified issues.
  • Job Costing:
    • Manage and analyze job cost data, including tracking of project budgets, actual costs, and variances.
    • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and budgeting.
    • Prepare job cost reports and provide insights into project profitability and efficiency.
  • General Accounting:
    • Oversee and perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
    • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Compliance and Audit Support:
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Support external auditors during financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure company adherence.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide detailed financial reports to management for strategic decision-making.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management and operations, to ensure alignment of financial objectives.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
