Job Overview

As a Patient Access Representative at UNC Health Care, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a positive and professional experience. Your role will involve accurately registering patients, facilitating their entry into the healthcare system, and acting as a resource for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Verify patient identities and update demographic and insurance information in electronic medical records.
  • Handle and explain complex health insurance information, adhering to privacy and compliance standards.
  • Organize and schedule patient appointments, directing them throughout the facility as needed.
  • Explain and collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances, using the price estimation tool to provide accurate financial obligations.
  • Act as a resource for patients during the registration process, explaining and completing complex forms and documents.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service and working with electronic medical records.
  • Preferred: experience with medical terminology and electronic medical recordkeeping systems.

Work Environment:

Full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek, working on-site at PARDEEHOSP. Exempt from overtime.
