Job Description:

As a CT Technologist at The University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients of all ages. Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Radiologic Services, you will give work direction to assigned personnel and participate in the operation of providing CT scanning and X-Ray services at our various sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that each patient order is completed as ordered.
  • Maintain attendance and tardiness according to hospital standards.
  • Demonstrate a positive, supportive attitude to physicians, patients, families, and other personnel consistently.
  • Ensure the comfort and safety of patients within the department at all times.
  • Maintain all records and documentation as required by personnel for DNV Inspections.
  • Ensure radiation protection and safety practices for technologists and others in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Make minor adjustments to equipment as deemed necessary.
  • Adhere to all prescribed safety procedures in the performance of duties.
  • Checks quality of examinations and performs repeats if necessary.
  • Provides patient and student with explanation of protocol and procedures when applicable.
  • Maintains awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damage to personnel and patients.
  • Reports equipment needing repair to Manager/Lead technologist immediately.
  • Obtains a complete history from the patient and/or chart prior to implementing procedures.
  • Performs imaging operations on assigned patients to obtain optimum exams.
  • Maintains an orderly work area to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Assists other staff when work is completed.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology and maintains certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Retains an active Radiography accreditation with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain CPR.
