Job Summary

The Transplant Coordinator RN is a vital member of the transplant team at UNC Health, responsible for coordinating solid organ transplantation for pediatric and adult recipients. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the transplant program administrator to develop and implement short- and long-term plans for the transplant program.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts to maximize patient and graft survival outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about the transplant process and what to expect during each phase.
  • Oversee and coordinate the clinical, psychosocial, and financial needs of transplant patients.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by documenting and maintaining patient transplant information in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Three years of professional nursing experience, including two years in transplant, critical care, or a disease-specific area.
