Job Title: Paramedic Supervisor

Join the University of New Mexico - Hospitals team as a Paramedic Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in leading the Rapid Response Team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The Paramedic Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Rapid Response Team, providing clinical leadership and guidance to team members. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Rapid Response Team in providing emergency medical services to patients across the hospital complex.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance patient care and improve team performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Provide educational leadership and training to team members to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations to ensure team members are meeting expectations.
  • Develop and maintain good communications and relationships with staff and departments across the hospital.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 2 years of experience as a Paramedic, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification.
  • Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic License.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  • PALS Certification.
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License.
  • UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit.
  • CEVO Course completion within 3 months of hire.
  • Arterial Blood Gas course completion within 3 months of hire.
  • UNMH basic arrhythmia course completion within 3 months of hire.
  • DOT Medical Certification within 60 days of hire.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to emergency situations. The Paramedic Supervisor will be required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
