A.W. Chesterton is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing cell. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills to ensure the efficient production of our world-class flow control products.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and Plan Work Schedules: Develop and implement effective work schedules to meet production demands and ensure seamless operations.
- Manage Material Flow: Oversee the movement of materials throughout the facility and cells to optimize production efficiency.
- Perform Direct Labor/Value-Added Tasks: Participate in direct labor and value-added tasks within the cell to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Lead Cell Meetings: Facilitate regular meetings with cell employees to discuss production goals, address concerns, and promote open communication.
- Liaise with Support Functions: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Maintenance, CCT, and Quality Control to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues.
- Monitor and Control Spending: Analyze and manage spending to budgets, identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
- Manage Personnel Issues: Address day-to-day personnel matters, including employee performance and discipline issues, in consultation with Human Resources and management.
- Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team, communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders, and provide clear direction and guidance.
- Manufacturing Expertise: Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, including mechanical seals and production environments.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions that drive business results.
- Operational Management: Experience in managing day-to-day operations, including scheduling, material flow, and personnel management.
- Quality and Safety: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring quality procedures are implemented, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Associated Degree: Preferred
- 5-7 Years of Supervisory Experience: Demonstrated experience in a supervisory manufacturing environment, with a strong track record of leadership and operational management.
