Senior Contracts Engineer/Contracts & Procurement Lead

Job Summary:

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Engineer/Contracts & Procurement Lead to join our team for a Major Offshore Windfarm Developer in the Northeast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensure timely responses.
  • Develop and prepare tender package materials, including commercial and technical specifications.
  • Qualify and assess potential suppliers, ensuring they meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to mature specifications, scopes of work, and commercial agreements.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Obtain award endorsements through internal contract boards and JV shareholder governance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor market trends and provide market intelligence to inform project decisions.
  • Support leaders in risk mitigation and alternative planning, ensuring project success.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive contract management plan, ensuring effective tracking and reporting.
  • Lead commercial and contractual correspondence, managing variations and claims.
  • Conduct cost estimation and Change Management reviews, ensuring accurate financial projections.
  • Establish and manage a project contract calendar, ensuring timely performance and progress meetings.
  • Interface with Project Services teams to ensure alignment between contractors' schedules and interface responsibilities.
  • Participate in project meetings, generating status reports and briefings for all levels of management.
  • Support reporting to JV Shareholders, including milestone reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in project contracting, preferably in an offshore project environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard offshore installation and charter contracts, such as LOGIC, BIMCO, and FIDIC.
  • Externally accredited chartership, such as ISM, CIPS, or RICS, is a plus.
  • Safety-oriented mindset and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication, presentation skills.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and client-focused individual.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and be a good team player.
  • Thrives in a multi-cultural, fast-paced JV environment.
  • Ability to influence without authority and manage multiple relationships simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform with minimal guidance.
