Position Summary:
The Pellet Mill Operator Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our pellet mill. This position involves overseeing equipment safety, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring optimal production and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage equipment shutdowns and process adjustments for safety compliance.
  • Conduct light maintenance or coordinate with plant maintenance for repairs.
  • Implement start-up and shutdown protocols, along with routine preventative maintenance and documentation.
  • Make necessary adjustments to enhance production efficiency and maintain quality control.
  • Step in as Plant Leadperson when required.
  • Collaborate with bagging operations to ensure smooth product flow and quality assurance.
  • Support maintenance teams as needed.
  • Identify and assist with quality control improvements.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote strong employee relations.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to complete reports accurately and legibly.
  • Capability to lift specified weights.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 160 feet and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
