Job Summary

This is a school-based occupational therapist position that will play a vital role in supporting students' academic success by addressing their sensory, motor, and developmental needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective interventions that promote students' independence and participation in school activities.

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students' functional abilities and needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' sensory, motor, and self-care skills
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students' academic and social success
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents on strategies to promote students' independence and participation in school activities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided
Responsibilities and Requirements

Key responsibilities include conducting evaluations and assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, providing direct therapy services, collaborating with school staff and parents, providing consultation and training, and maintaining accurate documentation.

To be considered for this role, you should have a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, a valid California license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist, previous experience working in a school setting, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
