Job Summary

The Special Operations Guard Manager (SOGM) is a critical role within Wynn Security Operations, responsible for providing oversight, support, and guidance to assigned personnel. This position requires a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Ensure effective deterrence, detection, and response to security/safety related events, and provide administrative and operational management of assigned supervisors and officers.
  • Administrative Oversight: Collaborate with Hotel Security, Corporate Investigations, and Hotel Management to investigate incidents, compile data and information for accurate reporting, and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Hiring, Training & Development: Participate in the recruitment process, screen potential candidates, conduct interviews, and select qualified candidates, as well as provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of assigned personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director, Executive Director, or Vice President of Security.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 4 years of military or law enforcement service, with relevant armed professional experience may be utilized to supplement and achieve the required minimum of 4 years.
  • Minimum of 2 years Supervisor experience in hotel/casino armed security, law enforcement, or military is highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will currently possess a Nevada Carrying Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit or a HR 218 (law Enforcement Officer Safety Act) card, and must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada CCW or HR 218 within six months of their hire date.
  • Must be able to obtain and possess a valid Nevada Gaming Registration, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), First Aid and CPR certifications, and a valid Nevada Driver's License upon employment.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain Wynn Firearms Qualification requirements.
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required, college graduate preferred.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures, ability to conduct investigations and compile accurate reports, strong organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing situations, understanding of risk assessments and injury prevention strategies, experience in hiring and training security personnel is preferred, knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to security, ability to work alone and within a team environment, ability to communicate in English fluently and professionally, and additional languages are welcomed.
