Senior Level Diesel Technician Job Description

Ryder is seeking a highly skilled Senior Level Diesel Technician to join our team in Zanesville, OH. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical and electronic repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • This position requires the ability to drive Ryder vehicles and obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
