Data Center Operations Technician

Job Description:

The Data Center Operations Technician is a critical role responsible for providing 24/7 technical support to Flexential customers and resources. This position requires a solid understanding of facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, and PC troubleshooting and management applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to represent Flexential professionally and technically during interactions with customers and internal resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of facility and customer issues.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and conduct while performing data center duties.
  • Troubleshoot and document technical issues using Flexential's ticketing system.
  • Follow Flexential's support and data center policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
  • Perform remote hands work for internal and external customers.
  • Assist with physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the data center and surrounding areas.
  • Perform facilities rounds and escalate pertinent information.
  • Process all inbound and outbound shipping/receiving for customers and Flexential deliveries.
  • Operate and manage badge access security systems.
  • Assist the Critical Infrastructure Manager as needed.
  • Work with local management to maintain cabling and general usage item inventory levels.
Required Qualifications:
  • Passion for providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Understanding of Windows and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Prefer 1 year of experience in an IT support environment.
  • AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
  • Network+, Security+, and/or CCNA desired.
  • Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb ladders and work aloft.
  • Ability to work in cold temperature environments.
  • Ability to maneuver pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to pull and install cabling.
