Position Title: Senior Telecommunications Architect

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Contract Length: 6-month Contract to Hire

Compensation: Targeting approximately $70 per hour

Core Responsibilities:

System Design and Deployment:

  • Architect, configure, and implement Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) alongside other Cisco voice solutions.
  • Establish and uphold the voice communication framework, including VoIP systems, call management, and voicemail services.
  • Deploy and oversee Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) and Cisco Unity Connection platforms.

Maintenance and Technical Support:

  • Deliver advanced troubleshooting and resolution for intricate voice-related challenges.
  • Conduct routine system maintenance, updates, and patches to guarantee peak performance and security.
  • Monitor system functionality, identify issues, and execute corrective measures as required.

Integration and Collaboration:

  • Integrate voice solutions with other IT systems within the institution, including network infrastructure and collaboration tools.
  • Work in tandem with network engineers to ensure seamless integration of voice services with overall network operations.
  • Engage with vendors and service providers to coordinate support and resolve service-related issues.

Project Leadership:

  • Oversee and direct voice-related projects, encompassing system upgrades, new implementations, and enhancements.
  • Formulate project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates to stakeholders.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create and maintain thorough documentation for voice systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Provide training and support to IT personnel and end-users on voice technologies and best practices.

Innovation and Enhancement:

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in voice communication and Cisco products.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to improve voice communication services and user experience.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in voice engineering or related fields, particularly with Cisco products.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco UCCX.
  • Familiarity with VoIP technologies, call routing, and telephony systems.

Certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Collaboration is essential.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Collaboration or similar advanced certifications are highly regarded.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco voice technologies, network protocols, and telephony standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
