As a Leadperson, you will play a critical role in supporting the production objectives of the Weekend Shift Steel Fab Department. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction to all hourly employees in the department.
  • Organizing job duties and overseeing training for new hires, ensuring they meet matrix requirements for cross-training.
  • Mentoring and facilitating Safety Squad/Safety Program activities.
  • Organizing and prioritizing daily workflow to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Creating work orders and writing HFDs.
  • Proficient in multi-tasking multiple areas within the department.
  • Adapting to change based on customer requirements and needs.
  • Troubleshooting machine problems and making recommendations when necessary.
  • Collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and meet customer demand.
  • Coordinating inventory cycle counts.
  • Forecasting for raw and external vendor-related materials (as needed).
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience (i.e., lead person, crew leader, etc.).
  • Multi-tasking, organizational skills, and communication are essential for this role.
  • Experience with PCs and Windows software; database experience preferred.
  • Able to read technical documents such as technical manuals and mechanical engineered drawings.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality system.
