We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to join our team at Jobot. As an Electrical Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading engineering services for a variety of energy infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Act as an engineering lead on projects involving medium and low voltage power systems, grounding, lighting, instrumentation and control systems.
- Client-Focused Activities: Support client-focused activities such as business development and proposal preparation.
- Team Development: Develop and mentor junior engineering and design staff.
- Technical Expertise: Prepare data sheets and specifications for electrical equipment for power distribution center (PDC), switchgear, transformer, motor control center (MCC), variable frequency drive (VFD), starter, control panel, etc.
- Quality Assurance: Provide Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control for other engineers' work product.
- Project Management: Participate in startup, performance testing and troubleshooting.
- Cost Control: Participate in planning, cost control and scheduling for assigned projects.
- Vendor Management: Prepare & issue RFQs, evaluate vendors quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis, etc.
- Documentation: Review of vendors documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
- Education: B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Licensure: California Electrical Professional Engineer license is required.
- Experience: Minimum work experience of 15 years with at least 10 years in the utility or energy industries and 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Skills: Experience with field start-up and troubleshooting is required. Knowledge in electrical engineering and design, NEC and API 500 with working electrical construction experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in consulting (or EPC with Design & Engineering capability) is strongly preferred. Some electric utility experience is preferred.
- Communication: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with clients and team members in both verbal and written form.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with AutoCAD and BlueBeam is preferred. Familiarity with ETAP and/or SKM is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
- Other Requirements: Working knowledge with instrumentation, programmable logic controllers (PLC) and distributed control systems (DCS). Valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.
