Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with institutional leadership on doctoral student matters and policies.
- Ensure compliance with COA accreditation standards.
- Prepare and oversee the program's financial plan in conjunction with leadership and financial teams.
- Work alongside faculty to uphold high-quality curriculum and instruction during the academic phase.
- Lead accreditation initiatives with COA and CCNE.
- Deliver didactic instruction within the nurse anesthesia curriculum.
- Supervise the recruitment, evaluation, and mentorship of program faculty and adjunct instructors.
- Coordinate orientation for new faculty members.
- Manage course development and student assessments in nurse anesthesia.
- Engage stakeholders regarding program progress and evaluations.
- Ensure comprehensive clinical experiences with faculty and clinical partners.
- Oversee program assessment activities.
- Maintain communication with academic and healthcare collaborators.
- Participate in Nursing Assessment and Graduate Team committees.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, DNAP, or EdD) from an accredited higher education institution is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a CRNA is required.
- Experience in classroom instruction or leadership within a nursing program is required.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills is required.
- Familiarity with curricular design, including experience in distance education and the development of quality online programs, is preferred.
- Prior experience with program accreditation processes is preferred.
- Experience with evaluation and outcomes assessment is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is required.
- A current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure is required.
- APRN-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (APRN-CRNA) license in Nebraska is required upon hire.
- Eligibility for the Controlled Substance Registration Certification (CSRC) through the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is required, with certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
- Active membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology is required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of graduate education and clinical requirements.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Exceptional team-building, collaborative, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in software applications, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and database applications such as Typhon Clinical Tracking System.
- Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
- Some travel may be necessary, including occasional overnight travel for practicum site visits and professional development.
