Job Title: Care Attendant

At Knute Nelson, we are committed to enriching the lives of everyone we serve. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Attendant to join our team at Nelson Gables facility.

Job Summary:

The Care Attendant will provide high-quality personal care and ancillary services to residents in an assisted living/housing environment. This includes providing housekeeping, dietary, and activities services to maintain the physical and emotional well-being of residents while adhering to regulations and established best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resident Living and Life Enrichment:
    • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents, promoting their independence and dignity.
    • Engage residents in activities that promote their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
    • Collaborate with the wellness program to provide hands-on assistance and support residents in self-care.
  • Resident Care and Services:
    • Provide individualized, direct care to residents with activities of daily living, including showering, bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, toileting, transferring, fingernail cares, and foot cares.
    • Assist with meals, restorative care, and life skills based on resident preferences, regulations, and established best practices.
    • Maintain all required documentation in accordance with regulations and established clinical best practices.
  • Admissions:
    • Welcome and greet new residents, families, and friends, ensuring a smooth transition to our facility.
    • Participate in the orientation of new residents and family members/friends to the housing environment.
  • Customer Meals:
    • Assist in preparing, storing, and serving meals, beverages, and snacks for residents/customers based on resident requests, regulations, and established policies and procedures.
    • Create a positive eating experience for customers, promoting their independence, choice, and overall well-being.
  • Homemaking and Laundry:
    • Maintain uncompromising levels of cleanliness in the household and common areas.
    • Assist residents with laundry and linen changes, supporting their self-care and independence.
Requirements:
  • A Minnesota CNA certification is preferred and may be required for some levels of assisted living.
  • Critical thinking, interpersonal effectiveness, and teamwork skills are required.
  • Must complete and pass a state-required background study.
  • Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
  • Required to have the ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents, and visitors.

LPN or RN
