Position Overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be tasked with identifying, screening, and hiring qualified candidates who are committed to supporting individuals in recovery. This role is essential in ensuring that East House is staffed with individuals who not only possess the necessary skills but also resonate with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Sourcing
    • Devise and execute innovative sourcing strategies to attract top-tier talent, including outreach to community organizations, job boards, and social media platforms.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with educational institutions, community groups, and professional organizations to create a robust talent pipeline.
    • Participate in job fairs, community events, and networking opportunities to represent East House and engage potential candidates.
  • Screening and Interviewing
    • Evaluate resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet the organization's needs and align with its mission.
    • Conduct initial phone screenings and in-person interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers to ensure a seamless process.
    • Manage the intern pool and assist in recruiting new interns.
  • Candidate Experience
    • Ensure a positive and supportive experience for all candidates, maintaining timely communication and transparency throughout the recruitment process.
    • Create offer letters using the applicant tracking system.
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, volunteers, and interns, including coordinating orientation and training sessions.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
    • Promote a positive work environment to enhance employee morale.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and team dynamics.
    • Assist hiring managers in developing and implementing talent screening questions.
    • Partner with the HR team to create job descriptions, interview guides, and recruitment materials that reflect the organization's mission and values.
    • Collaborate with program directors and other stakeholders to ensure that talent acquisition efforts align with the agency's strategic goals.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Maintain accurate records of candidate interactions, interview outcomes, and hiring decisions in the applicant tracking system.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to recruitment and hiring.
    • Prepare regular reports on recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and candidate diversity.
  • Additional Duties
    • Ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
    • Collaborate with the Office of Ethics, Compliance & Quality to identify and rectify non-compliance issues.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief People Officer.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required; comparable education and experience may be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of recruiting experience, ideally within a non-profit or social services environment.
  • Experience recruiting for roles in healthcare, social work, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and networks related to recovery and addiction support.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of the unique challenges and rewards of working in the recovery support field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining cross-functional relationships.
  • Proficiency with various Microsoft applications and other computer systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong consultative skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Valid New York State driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for recruiting events.
