About the Role

Family Service League Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Mental Health Clinic team in Central Islip. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential services to children, families, and adults with a range of mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to adults and children with diverse mental health needs.
  • Deliver services in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and linguistically competent manner.
  • Collaborate with referral sources, care coordination providers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Coordinate linkage to community resources and discharge planning.
  • Participate in routine supervision and team meetings.
  • Provide crisis intervention during scheduled work hours as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work required.
  • LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or limited permit required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health setting required; clinic experience preferred.
  • Prior experience diagnosing using the DSM V and experience with behavioral/therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records, required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver's License required.
