Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse

As a valued member of our team at The Tampa General Hospital, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the planning and organization of daily procedures in the Catheterization Laboratory, under the direction of the Laboratory Manager and/or Radiology Director. This role requires providing exceptional patient care for the completion of procedures within the Catheterization Laboratory and Radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients for a designated time frame, providing care via the nursing process, environment, instrumentation, and other healthcare team members.
- Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner that projects a positive image of the department and the hospital.
- Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians, and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate manner to promote a harmonious work environment.
- Answers telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, providing assistance, explaining procedures, and exhibiting concern as appropriate.
Requirements:
- At minimum, completion/graduation from a nursing program for Registered Nurse. Diploma or transcripts must be provided (diploma preferred).
- One (1) year of nursing experience in acute care is required.
- One (1) year of experience within a Catheterization Laboratory performing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred but not required.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Active State of Florida Registered Nurse License; BLS and ACLS certification are required.
- Completion of Moderate Sedation and Basic Arrhythmia training within ninety (90) days of hire/transfer is required.
