Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Tampa General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing histology functions and procedures for patient specimens, including responding to frozen sections, immunostaining, and special staining.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process tissues for microscopic examination
  • Operate instrumentation, prepare reagents, and maintain records according to established policies and procedures
  • Communicate with nursing and physicians regarding patient specimens and results
  • Enter and retrieve data from Laboratory Information System
Qualifications
  • AS degree in Histology or related science required
  • Minimum one year experience in Histology in Hospital laboratory setting
  • Current State of Florida Laboratory Technologist License in Histology specialty
