We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our team at Wise. As a key member of our Regulatory Oversight Compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective mitigation of regulatory compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance matters, including state money transmission license requirements and relevant federal consumer regulations.
- Support the development and maintenance of our Regulatory Compliance oversight framework, including updates to relevant policies and procedures.
- Execute and enhance quarterly monitoring across key risk areas, ensuring the identification and mitigation of potential compliance risks.
- Provide adequate challenge to first-line teams on the development of controls and provide approvals on any control changes, new products, or features.
- Represent regulatory compliance oversight both internally and externally to regulators, auditors, and partners, showcasing Wise's strong oversight compliance framework.
- Execute the company's Regulatory Compliance Risk Assessment and assist in the preparation of committee and board papers.
- Support regulatory change management by maintaining oversight of implementation of developments that impact business activities.
- Proactively identify key areas of risk and work with first-line teams to develop mitigation plans.
- Previous experience in a Financial Regulation advisory role or in a Compliance/Legal department, Risk and Controls function, or in a consultancy environment.
- J.D., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, or similar qualification.
- Familiarity with regulations such as Reg E, UDAAP, E-Sign Act, and state Money Transmission License regulations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with Product Managers and Engineers.
- Problem-solving attitude, with the ability to use regulations together with data to drive business decisions.
- Experience working in a fast-growing environment and willingness to travel.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience with Excel, Confluence, Jira, and GRC tools.
- Experience working with global teams.
